Designed a seamless multi-chain wallet experience to reduce self-custody friction & improving DeFi access
Overview
Laguna Wallet is a non-custodial, multi-chain Web3 wallet built by the team behind Truflation and Nuon. Designed to simplify self-custody and multi-chain asset management, and direct access to inflation-resistant NUON tokens, it provides a secure, intuitive experience for both crypto-native users and DeFi newcomers.
My Role
As the lead product designer, I redesigned Laguna Wallet’s UX to:
Simplify multi-chain navigation with a seamless asset dashboard for iOS and chrome extension
Reduce friction in self-custody transactions with features like transfer any asset to receive any asset, pay gas fee in stablecoin, ENS.
Improve onboarding for new users entering the DeFi ecosystem
Challenge
Most non-custodial wallets struggle with complex onboarding, fragmented multi-chain support, and unintuitive transaction flows, leading to high user drop-off and adoption barriers. Laguna aimed to:
Make multi-chain asset management effortless without requiring users to manually switch networks.
Reduce self-custody friction by streamlining signing, gas fees, and transaction clarity.
Improve onboarding to make Web3 wallets feel as intuitive as Web2 fintech apps.
Solution
I applied a human-centered design approach to solve these challenges:
Unified multi-chain dashboard → Eliminated the need for manual network switching by auto-detecting the right chain.
Simplified self-custody UX → Designed intuitive transaction previews, one-click signing, and stablecoin gas fee payments.
Optimized onboarding → Developed a seamless seed phrase backup flow with progressive education for new users.
Results
Improved transaction completion rates by eliminating signing friction.
Recognised by Coinbase & Base team for its clean and intuitive UX.
